Manchester Screen Unveils UK’s Largest Combined Digital and Banner Display Under New Ownership

Nov 19, 2025 | News

The Manchester Screen—already one of the UK’s most recognisable out-of-home advertising landmarks—has entered a new era following a major expansion under new owner Katie Smith. The 306m² digital screen can now be paired with an 834m² static banner, creating what Smith describes as the UK’s largest combined digital and banner advertising display in a prime roadside location.

Renowned as the second-largest digital billboard in Europe, the Manchester Screen curves around Salford Quays’ Victoria Warehouse and commands more than 21.6 million impressions every year from commuters travelling between the City Centre, MediaCity and major football grounds.

The site has long been a favourite for high-profile campaigns, hosting global brands such as JD Sports, O2, PaddyPower and Calvin Klein. Smith has also confirmed that the platform will increasingly support Manchester-based charities and purpose-led initiatives.

A New Era of Scale and Creative Possibilities

Katie Smith said the expansion reinforces the site’s role as a flagship location for high-impact campaigns:

“With 1,140.48 square metres of continuous advertising space, brands can now dominate one of the North’s busiest routes through a blend of static and dynamic formats. Extending beyond the digital screen allows campaigns to flow seamlessly across physical and digital space—an opportunity unmatched anywhere else in the UK.”

Supporting Community and Mental Health Initiatives

This winter marks the launch of the Manchester Screen’s new wellbeing and community programme, beginning with a major campaign supporting Men’s Mental Health Month UK. The initiative donates free advertising space to local mental health advocates Feel Good Club, Andy’s Man Club and HEADS, encouraging conversation and awareness around men’s wellbeing. The next campaign in the pipeline will be for JD Sports.

New Sales Leadership to Drive National Growth

To support its growing ambitions, the Manchester Screen has appointed media veteran Mike Hartley as London Sales Partner. With over two decades of industry experience, Hartley will focus on expanding the platform’s presence among London-based brands and agencies.
