Dec 16, 2025 | News

Next Gen Man City is designed to connect the next generation of leaders with the global sports industry, giving 14–17-year-olds a first-hand look at what a future career in sport, business, or marketing could really involve.

This premium summer residential programme brings together students from more than 30 countries, offering an immersive introduction to the business of football through the lens of Manchester City. Following the success of the 2025 edition, the 2026 programme returns with an even sharper focus and a renewed commitment to developing confident, curious, and capable young leaders.

At the heart of the programme is The Business of Football. Students explore how clubs, brands, and athletes engage millions of fans worldwide through strategy, creativity, innovation, and storytelling. Over two weeks in Summer 2026, participants will take part in more than 25 hours of interactive workshops per week, alongside industry-led sessions and live experiences that reveal how global sports organisations operate behind the scenes.

The residential experience places students in state-of-the-art accommodation in the heart of Manchester, allowing them to experience the city’s vibrant culture while building independence and new friendships. Every element of the programme is carefully designed to develop essential skills such as teamwork, creativity, communication, and problem-solving—key foundations for college, university, and future employment.

Delivered at the Etihad Campus, home of the Manchester City first team, the programme blends real-world learning with rich social and cultural experiences. It is an opportunity to learn where elite performance, innovation, and ambition come together.

The programme is delivered by the Manchester City Sports Business School, which prepares future leaders to understand the business of sport through world-class education, real-world insight, and access to Manchester City’s global football network. Established in 2022, the school connects academic excellence with the innovation and professionalism that define City Football Group.

For motivated students looking to explore pathways in sport and business while building confidence, independence, and a global network, Next Gen Man City 2026 offers an experience that goes far beyond the classroom.
